Twistzz: BLAST canceled FaZe's permission to use k0nfig as a substitute

The organizers of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 denied FaZe's request to use Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke as a substitute despite an earlier agreement, the European team's member Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken said on Twitter.

According to Twistzz, BLAST canceled their decision on k0nfig, which they made a few days ago, just last night. He did not disclose the reasoning behind the tournament operator's change of position.

Earlier, it came to be known that FaZe intended to use Wienecke as a stand-in for Håvard "rain" Nygaard, who will miss BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. This decision contradicts the rules of the tournament since k0nfig is registered as a substitute in Heroic, while the deadline for submitting rosters, where Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer is listed as a reserve player of FaZe, has already passed.

olofmeister will not be able to help FaZe at the upcoming championship. The club is forced to urgently look for a player who is not among the participants of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 and can get to the venue in Copenhagen in time.

BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 will run on January 19-26. FaZe will compete in Group B, where the opening matches will take place on the second matchday.
