HEAP not selected after trials in fnatic; club signs another player

fnatic Chief Gaming Officer Patrik "cArn" Sättermon answered some questions from fans on the club's Discord channel. Among other things, the head revealed that the team's fifth player will be announced next week and it won't be Ludvig "HEAP" Alonso, whose period on trial has come to an end.

HEAP joined fnatic at the end of June. Together with the Swedish player, who previously represented Dignitas, the European roster took part in REPUBLEAGUE Season 3, finishing in last place.

Speaking with the fans, cArn also denied the information about the possible signing of Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen from G2. According to him, negotiations with the Finnish esports athlete indeed took place, but the club decided to trust the leadership qualities of William "mezii" Merriman, who will take over the calling.

Discussing the new fnatic player, the CGO only hinted that before being signed, he played for another team, which means that fnatic likely paid a buyout for the rookie.

cArn added that the fnatic roster will be back from the summer break on August 14 and will gather at a bootcamp in London. In the UK capital, the team will prepare for the open qualifiers for the European RMR event, as well as for the start of ESL Pro League Season 16.
