Boombl4: "I will try my best to get to tier 1"
Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, who was previously removed from the NAVI main roster, gave an interview to blogger Eugene Rise, in which he spoke about the willingness to continue his career at the highest level of the professional CS:GO scene. According to the Russian, after the success he has had with Natus Vincere, he simply cannot give up the feeling that the game gives at the tier 1 level, and will do everything within his power to return.
I will try my best to get to tier 1. It doesn’t matter whether the offers are good or bad. It doesn’t matter if I have to build my own team or join some organization. I have a goal to go further. I am 23, we won a lot of tournaments last year. I understand the taste of victory and the thrill of LAN tournaments, flights and fans. How can you not want it? I want to win and feel team morale. It doesn't matter who I play with, I just want to play on. This is my dream.
During the interview, Boombl4 also said that the reputational risks that led to his departure from NAVI were the public behavior of his ex-wife. Shortly after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the woman posted a photo with the Russian flag on her cheek and a selfie on the background of military equipment, although Mikhailov warned that this was unacceptable.
I got a call from xaoc telling me I was no longer part of the team. Unfortunately, such a decision was made. I took it unemotionally. I went to my wife and said that I was removed. I did not tell her back then that it was due to her posts. It's obvious to everyone, but she doesn't understand. I told her that all posts should be checked with me. These photos were posted anyway. Then she created a Telegram channel, which I promoted, where she started posting complete nonsense.<...> It was blind love. Lika did everything so that I don't play in the best team in the world. She is still taking steps to ensure that I'm not in esports anymore.
Boombl4 has represented NAVI since 2019 and during this time helped the team win many big tournaments, the most prestigious of which was PGL Major Antwerp 2022. With him on board, Natus Vincere also won the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 award, which brought them $1 million.
