HLTV: HEROIC to replace AWPer

According to unofficial reports, Norwegian esports organization HEROIC is in talks with Gentle Mates regarding the acquisition of AWPer Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez. HLTV.org reports this, citing its own sources. Should the transfer go through, the 25-year-old Spanish esports athlete will replace Simon "yxngstxr" Boije.

It was previously reported that Gentle Mates intends to sell its CS2 roster and leave the discipline. Meanwhile, rumors suggest FaZe was also interested in MartinezSa.

On July 6, HEROIC announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster, including adjustments to coaching staff.

Heroic currently sits 36th in Valve's official Counter-Strike 2 world ranking. The team placed 28th-30th at IEM Cologne Major 2026.
