The MongolZ through to Thunderpick World Championship 2024 playoffs; 9z out

Second day of the big Counter-Strike 2 tournament Thunderpick World Championship 2024 has ended – today, Group B participants played four matches.

In the first round, The MongolZ defeated Cloud9 (13:11 on Dust2, 13:11 on Ancient), while fnatic prevailed over 9z (4:13 on Ancient, 13:8 on Inferno, 13:10 on Dust2). After that, Cloud9 knocked 9z out of the event (13:10 on Mirage, 13:7 on Ancient), while The MongolZ bested fnatic (13:11 on Mirage, 13:7 on Dust2).

As a result, 9z placed last at the tournament and did not receive any prize money for participating, while The MongolZ secured a berth in the final stage of the competition.

Thunderpick World Championship 2024 runs from October 21 to November 3. The final two days of the event will be held at the LVL Arena in Berlin, Germany; the remaining matches will play out online. The competition features a prize pool of $850,000.
