Valve sets deadline for issuing invites to tournaments in 2025

Counter-Strike 2 developers have made another change to the new tournament rulebook, which will come into force next year.

According to the new clause, the tournament operator will have to announce the list of invited teams two months (or less) prior to the start of the event. This means that the organizers will have to resolve all issues with qualifiers, visas and flights during these eight weeks.

Some representatives of the CS2 community have already criticized this Valve's decision and asked to reconsider it. In particular, Complexity General Manager called on the developers to increase this period to 12-16 weeks so that TOs can freely hold their events in countries where it is more difficult to obtain visas.

Earlier, the developers of Counter-Strike 2, amid the scandal with Joel "joel" Holmlund, introduced a clause into the regulations regarding the disqualification of teams from tournaments. The organizers will have the right to establish rules allowing the removal of players found or suspected of various types of violations.
