Valve update rulebook for holding CS2 tournaments amid scandal with joel

Counter-Strike 2 developers have made adjustments to the new rulebook for holding tournaments, which will come into force next year. The regulations have been updated with a clause regarding the disqualification of teams from events.

According to the new clause, tournament operators have the right to establish rules allowing the removal of players found guilty or suspected (i.e. creating risks for the organizers) of various violations – cheating, match-fixing, etc. In this case, the TO will have to explain the reasons for their decision.

At the same time, disqualification for the aforementioned reasons may lead to the team's removal from Valve's official ranking and, accordingly, the deprivation of its invites to other licensed events.

Note that on August 4, 19-year-old Swedish esports athlete joel was banned by Akros anti-cheat during a match at the online tournament CCT Season 2 Europe Series 7. The organizers disqualified the team from the competition. Shortly after, the BC.Game roster was suspended from two more events and the club benched the player.
