Evil Geniuses and ESL terminate partnership agreement

Tournament operator ESL announced via its official Twitter account the termination of the so-called Louvre Agreement with Evil Geniuses. The deal expires on January 1, 2024.

The North American club was one of the company's partners, entering into a partnership with ESL in the spring of 2020. Since then, Evil Geniuses has participated in eight seasons of the ESL Pro League series.

This news only confirms the organization's intention to leave the discipline and esports in general. Earlier, journalist Richard Lewis told about Evil Geniuses' plans, while the club has already sold the BLAST Premier slot to Cloud9.

Reportedly, EG's ESL Pro League slot will be added to the invitation pool based on the ESL ranking. The rules will come into force from the 19th season, which will take place from April to May of 2024.

From now on, the list of ESL partners includes: Astralis, BIG, Complexity, ENCE, FaZe, FURIA, fnatic, G2, MOUZ, NAVI, NIP, Liquid, and Vitality. At the same time, Valve previously banned partner leagues; the new rules will take effect in 2025.
