Richard Lewis: Evil Geniuses intend to leave Counter-Strike

North American club Evil Geniuses is on the verge of closing its Counter-Strike division, as reported by journalist Richard Lewis.

According to the information published, EG intend to disband their current CS2 roster and completely exit the professional scene. This decision has been driven by the economic downturn and problems within the organization, which have led to substantial layoffs and exit from other gaming disciplines, including Dota 2.

According to Lewis, Evil Geniuses may completely cease their esports operations. They are ready to sell their slot in the LCS franchise league, the biggest North American League of Legends competition, and are also open to transfers of their roster in Valorant, another Riot Games' flagship game.

Evil Geniuses have been represented in CS:GO and now CS2 since 2019. The club's greatest achievements came in the debut year on the pro scene of Valve's shooter: victories at ESL One New York 2019, StarSeries & i-League Season 8, BLAST Premier Spring 2020 American Final, and ESL One Cologne 2020 North America, as well as top 4 at ECS Season 8 Finals, EPICENTER 2019, ESL Pro League Season 11 North America, and ESL Pro League Season 12 North America.

Evil Geniuses' current lineup looks as follows:

 Timothy "autimatic" Ta
 Colby "Walco" Walsh
 Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott
 Paytyn "junior" Johnson
 Jadan "HexT" Postma

 Tommy "Axed" Ryan (coach)
