Richard Lewis: Valve to release Counter-Strike 2 beta in March

The release of the Counter-Strike 2 beta is scheduled for March according to the information shared by journalist Richard Lewis in his report, citing anonymous sources at Valve who are close to the development of the game.

Counter-Strike 2 is expected to be released on the new Source 2 engine no later than April 1st. Lewis found out that the release of the new game is Valve's top priority, which is why the developers's response to fixing CS:GO's existing problems has been slow lately.

Presumably, Counter-Strike 2 will feature a more advanced matchmaking system compared to CS:GO. Also, players will have access to 128 tick servers.

Rumors about CS:GO's porting to Source 2 appeared back in 2017. Since then, Valve's work on the port to the more modern engine has received numerous indirect confirmations from insiders and dataminers. One of the recent ones is a support for an unknown project called Counter-Strike 2 found in NVIDIA drivers.
