9z's coach becomes free agent upon expiry of his contract

9z's coach Rafael "zakk" Fernandes has announced on Twitter that he is no longer part of the organization. The specialist's contract has ended, meaning he is now free to explore new opportunities as a free agent.

zakk was in charge of the 9z roster since 2020. During this time, the South American squad established themselves as one of the leaders in their region, and in August of this year broke into the top 20 of the world ranking for the first time in their history.

Under Fernandes' guidance, the team won several regional online tournaments and regularly attended international championships. In particular, the representatives of South America qualified for the last two Majors: PGL Major Antwerp 2022 (23-24th place) and IEM Rio Major 2022 (17-19th place).

It is worth noting that zakk was unable to help his men at the Antwerp Major, as the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) temporarily suspended him and two other coaches as part of an investigation into the spectator bug abuse. Subsequently, ESIC concluded based on additional information that the skipper did not pose a threat to the integrity of the competition.

Fernandes did not share any information about where he intends to continue his career and noted that all teams interested in his services can DM him.
