s1mple named best CS:GO player of the decade by ESL

Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev has been named the best CS:GO player of the decade by tournament operator ESL. NAVI's leader was awarded on the stage of the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the start of the IEM Rio Major 2022 semifinals.

Following s1mple in the ranking is Astralis' AWPer Nicolai "device" Reedtz. The top three was rounded out by the eminent Swede Patrick "f0rest" Lindberg, who currently is without a team.

ESL unveiled the ranking of thirteen esports athletes who were ranked based on their level of play, consistency, and impact on the professional scene over the ten years since CS:GO's release.

s1mple has been performing at a professional level since 2014. Since then, he has changed several teams before joining NAVI in 2016, which he represents to this day. Throughout his career, the Ukrainian won many big tournaments, including PGL Major Stockholm 2021, and was twice named the best player in the world by HLTV.org.
