groove: "Maybe somebody just thought that we have a lot of time to practice, but it's not true"

In the run-up to ESL Pro League Season 16, Cloud9 were negatively affected by the lack of competitive practice, the team's coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner believes. In an interview with the organizers of the prestigious league, he spoke about the importance of competitive practice, which is much more beneficial than regular training.

Maybe somebody just thought that we have a lot of time to practice, but it's not true. When you didn't have a lot of competitive practice, you just don't feel the confidence. In my opinion, it's more important to feel the confidence than to have a lot of practice.

Prior to the start of the ongoing EPL season, Cloud9 had not played official matches for more than two months. The team's previous tournament was IEM Cologne 2022, which for the CIS lineup finished on July 10.

The Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov-led squad started its ESL Pro League Season 16 campaign with victories over Evil Geniuses and Eternal Fire. Today, September 23, at 13:30 MSK, the team will face off against Movistar Riders in the third round of Group D.
