ESL cancels tournament in China amid worsening epidemiological situation

Tournament operator ESL has announced that it has decided not to hold IEM China 2022 which was scheduled for early December. The reason being is the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in China, which led to restrictions on holding international events.

At the same time, ESL does not abandon plans to hold a big competition in the Asian region. The organization of the event in China will be considered when compiling the tournament calendar for 2023.

The press release also notes the postponement of EPL Season 17 Conference, which is a qualifying tournament for the ESL Pro League. To avoid scheduling conflicts with BLAST Premier Fall Final 2022, the Conference has been moved from November to early next year.
