noMERCY players banned by ESIC for match-fixing
The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has sanctioned members of the noMERCY Counter-Strike 2 roster for their involvement in fixed matches. The case concerns group stage games at Roman Imperium Cup VII played on March 28, 2026. That day, noMERCY played four series, against BETBOOM TEAM, Sangal, BESTIA and Wildcard, and lost every one of them with a combined score of 5-52.
During its investigation, ESIC detected abnormal betting on the outcomes of the matches and established that the players had deliberately worked toward the desired results. The commission therefore found the noMERCY players guilty and handed out the following sanctions:
Oliver "kzy" Heck - lifetime
János "James8k" Fodor - until April 23, 2031
Petar "perakokanje" Bešir - until April 23, 2031
Palkovics "playN" Tamás - until April 23, 2029
Sreten "srtn1" Smiljanić - until April 23, 2029
The aforementioned players will be barred from competing in professional Counter-Strike 2 for the duration of their suspensions. They are also prohibited from coaching other teams, refereeing matches and working as analysts.
