Football club Corinthians to create its CS:GO team

Brazilian football club Corinthians has announced the expansion of its esports division by creating a CS:GO team. The press release does specify the timing of the lineup formation.

Corinthians' announcement followed various reports on the club's interest in the roster of former MIBR player Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato, which also includes little-known Brazilians Leonardo "leomonster" Enrique and Lucas "lux" Meneghini. According to rumors, João "felps" Vasconcellos, who was previously moved to the bench in GODSENT, may also join the starting five.

Corinthians entered esports in 2019 by partnering with Immortals Gaming Club. The club created a Free Fire roster that eventually became one of the world's leaders in this discipline.

Corinthians is not the first football club to be represented on the professional CS:GO scene. Currently, European clubs Brugge and Wisla, South American Santos, Boca Juniors and River Plate, as well as several other organizations have their squads in Valve's shooter.
