Official: jabbi joins Heroic

Heroic have announced the signing of Copenhagen Flames player Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard on its official website. In early June, the Danish television channel TV2 reported that negotiations on the transfer of the player were at an advanced stage.

In the Heroic roster, the newcomer replaced Ismail "refrezh" Ali, who was previously removed from the starting five.

jabbi has represented Copenhagen Flames since mid-2020. During this time, the team's greatest success was at the last two Majors, when they were stopped a step away from reaching the playoffs at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and got into the top 8 at PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

Nygaard was transfer-listed on June 3 along with his CPH Flames teammates Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Rasmus "Zyphon" Nordfoss. The Danish club made this decision following the sale of Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi and Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen to fnatic.

Heroic's press release notes that jabbi has already joined his new teammates at the bootcamp, where the team is preparing for IEM Cologne 2022. The prestigious LAN event will take place from July 5 to 17.
