Official: hally, peacemaker and zakk banned from PGL Major Antwerp 2022

The PGL Major Antwerp 2022 organizers have announced that coaches Sergey "hally" Shavaev (Team Spirit), Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu (Imperial) and Rafael "zakk" Fernandez (9z) have been banned from PGL Major Antwerp 2022. This decision was based on a report from the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), which previously accused them of abusing the coaching bug.

Notably, PGL used the findings of the ESIC investigation as a reason for suspension despite not being among the tournament operators partnering with the Commission.

ESIC accuses hally and zakk of using the variant of the bug where their camera was fixed in one position. These coaches face up to five months of suspension, while peacemaker might be banned for up to 2 years for abusing the free roam bug, where he could fly around the map and observe the positions of opponents.

Interestingly enough, another coach featured in the ESIC report will take part in the upcoming Major. The unnamed specialist is suspected of using the third-person spectator bug, but the Commission considered this case to have a "less serious nature".

PGL Major Antwerp 2022 is set to take place from May 9 to 22. Deprived of the coaches' help, Team Spirit and Imperial will face off in the first round of the Challengers Stage, while 9z will start the tournament with a match against ENCE.
