xaoc on Russian players of NAVI: "They think about changing citizenship"

NAVI's COO Aleksey "xaoc" Kucherov in an interview to Dexerto commented on the current state of the CS:GO team amid ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Among other things, he noted that the Russian players are currently thinking about a possible change of citizenship.

According to Kucherov, after IEM Katowice 2022, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, Denis "electroNic" Sharipov and Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy returned home to Russia and are now looking for a way to cross the border to be able to join the team in upcoming tournaments.

They think about changing citizenship if possible because they already understand what awaits them in the near future. We are thinking about how best to proceed. We hope that the Russians will still be able to leave the country in the near future. Flights are being canceled, and it is getting incredibly harder to let people out at the border. The situation with visas, whether new ones will be issued, is not very clear. The first few days, the team was in complete shock, but now they have started to realize that there are no other options.

xaoc added that the organization provides support to the families of Ukrainian players whose relatives still stay on the territory of Ukraine.

We’re trying to help their relatives because it is impossible to do anything when they are in such danger. We are dealing with their future place of residence, traveling, and visas. A lot of things change every day.

During the conversation with journalists, Kucherov also spoke about the possible move of the NAVI's office to one of the European cities. Prior to the start of the military conflict in Ukraine, some of the club's employees left the country to ensure its further operation.
