CS:GO has beaten Dota 2 in peak online
According to Steam Database, 1,301,348 people played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at the same time on April 17, which is the highest number of games ever played. However, the shooter from Valve broke the record of the peak online Dota 2, which was recorded at 1,295,114 players mark back in March 2016.
In April, the average online result in CS:GO grew by 20.41% and currently stands at over 807.9 thousand. It is noteworthy that the current result is twice as high as the whole time before August 2019.
The official release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive took place on August 21, 2012.
