StarLadder explained politics regarding Major streams
The organizers of StarLadder Major 2019 issued an official statement regarding disputes in the CS: GO community about the broadcast rights of the current major. The tournament operator explained the massive bans of popular Twitch streamers that covered StarLadder Major 2019 through GOTV on personal channels with Valve's license terms, which guarantee StarLadder exclusive broadcast rights.
The tournament license for the CS:GO Major grants StarLadder rights to broadcast video content of the tournament. We use those rights to find the sponsorships and media contracts that make the event possible.
The tournament “StarLadder Berlin Major 2019” has official broadcasts in the following languages: Chinese, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, and Spanish. For these languages, StarLadder has media contracts and is required to comply with them. We welcome community broadcasts in languages which are not in the list of official broadcasting languages.
For the English-language community broadcasts we will be happy to work with community streamers if they would share sponsorship obligations with us. For more information, please contact us: [email protected]
