CYPHER to miss Budapest Major
22-year-old British esports athlete Cai "CYPHER" Watson announced that he will not participate in the upcoming StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 with fnatic.
The player posted this on via his X social media account. "Kinda crazy to me to be honest, was a dream to qualify after not qualifying for 2 years, disappointed but what can I do", Watson added.
Notably, a couple of weeks ago, Cai departed fnatic's active CS2 squad. The vacant position in the starting five was filled by Nikita "jackasmo" Skyba, who previously played for Passion UA. Later, team member Rodion "fear" Smyk explained that the final roster decision would be made closer to the Major.
With the Ukrainian, the team finished top 6 at 2025 CS Asia Championships. CYPHER will still receive in-game stickers for the 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major, as jackasmo will be registered as a replacement.
fnatic are now:
Benjamin "blameF" Bremer
Rodion "fear" Smyk
Dmytro "jambo" Semera
Freddy "KRiMZ" Johansson
Nikita "jackasmo" Skyba
Miks "Independent" Siliņš (coach)
