Valve improves VRS rules
Valve has made new adjustments to the official Counter-Strike 2 tournament rules, addressing a key issue with the weight for multi-stage tournaments and adding a new "minimum participation requirement" for a player to be considered part of an active team roster in the VRS system.
Event stages that can be connected to later event stages (e.g., qualifiers or group stages) now add to their prize pool a portion of the final stage's prize pool.
This change addresses the issue with most multi-stage events, including IEM Cologne, IEM Katowice, and Majors, where the early stages of the competition were significantly underweighted due to their minimal prize pools or only slots in the next stage.
The second rulebook update states that a player must now play five of the past ten matches to be considered an active member of a team's VRS roster. This prevents situations where an esports athlete who was only a short-term substitute could replace a main player in a ranked roster.
