PGL Kraków 2027 cancelled

Tournament operator PGL has announced the cancellation of the Counter-Strike 2 tournament in Krakow, which was announced just a few hours ago. According to the official statement from PGL, the administration of TAURON Arena, where the event was supposed to take place in early 2027, cancelled the reservation of the venue due to another event being held under the management of the city authorities.

We are deeply disappointed to announce the cancellation of our previously scheduled and announced PGL Kraków 2027 event at the TAURON Arena. Following our earlier statement celebrating the return of PGL to Kraków after a decade, Tauron Arena informed us that they have to cancel our reservation.

PGL intend to hold the tournament at another venue – the organizers have already started looking for a new arena.

Despite this setback, our commitment remains, and a PGL CS2 Event will still take place from January 13 to 25, 2027. We are actively seeking a new venue that recognizes the significance of esports and embraces its global audience.

We sincerely apologize to the passionate Counter-Strike fans who were excited to witness PGL's return to Kraków. While this decision is beyond our control, we remain determined to find a world-class venue to deliver the exceptional event that the esports community deserves and don't follow a questionable or hidden agenda.

PGL Kraków 2027 was supposed to take place at the same venue (TAURON Arena), where PGL Major Kraków 2017 played out in 2017. Gambit won that event, defeating Immortals in the final.
