Falcons with s1mple out of Thunderpick World Championship 2024; 3DMAX through to playoffs

First playday of the big Counter-Strike 2 tournament Thunderpick World Championship 2024 has ended, following which the first participant of the playoffs got determined, namely 3DMAX.

In the first round of Group A, 3DMAX defeated Falcons (13:10 on Anubis, 13:9 on Nuke), while OG bested Virtus.pro (10:13 on Dust2, 13:11 on Ancient, 13:5 on Anubis). After that, Virtus.pro knocked Falcons out of the event (13:9 on Mirage, 13:8 on Anubis), while 3DMAX prevailed over OG (13:10 on Ancient, 13:11 on Inferno).

Thus, Falcons lost their debut tournament with the updated roster, taking the last place for which the team did not receive any prize money. Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev finished the event with an average rating of 1.17.

Note that Thunderpick World Championship 2024 runs from October 21 to November 3. The last two days of the competition will take place at the LVL Arena in Berlin, Germany; the remaining matches will play out online. The prize pool for the tournament is $850,000.
