Virtus.pro knock 9z out of IEM Rio 2024; Vitality to compete in playoffs

The second day of IEM Rio 2024 kicked off with Group B matches. In the first round of the lower bracket, Virtus.pro defeated 9z (6:13 on Ancient, 13:11 on Inferno, 13:2 on Mirage), while in the winners' semi-finals, Vitality defeated The MongolZ (19:17 on Inferno, 13:8 on Nuke).

As a result, 9z finished the tournament in last place, while Vitality secured a spot in the final stage of the event. The MongolZ and Virtus.pro, in turn, will continue their journey to the playoffs in the lower bracket of the group.

There are two more matches in Group B on the schedule: Eternal Fire will face G2 in the lower bracket, while Astralis will compete against HEROIC for a ticket to the playoffs.
