New $1 million Thunderpick World Championship 2025 tournament announced

Tournament operator GRID has announced a new Counter-Strike 2 tournament from the Thunderpick World Championship series, which will consist of six online events, a closed qualifier, and a LAN final.

A total prize pool of the event will amount to one million US dollars. In each of the regional competitions, 16 teams will compete for one ticket to the closed qualifier, which will also feature 10 invitees.

Participants of the closed qualifier will fight for four slots at the LAN final. Four more squads will receive direct invites to the tournament based on Valve's ranking.

The prize pool of each qualifier will be $25,000; the organizers will allocate another $850,000 for the LAN final. The competition schedule looks as follows:

Europe Series 1: April 30-May 5
North America Series 1: May 11-16
South America Series 1: July 2-7
South America Series 2: July 15-20
North America Series 2: July 23-28
Europe Series 2: August 12-17
Closed Qualifier: September 9 -11
Finals: October 15-19
