9INE eliminated from IEM Rio 2023; FURIA secure playoff spot

9INE suffered a second loss at IEM Rio 2023 and were eliminated from the tournament, securing 9th-12th place and $5,000 in prize money. FURIA also defeated FaZe and advanced to the playoffs of the tournament.

In the first lower bracket semi-final of Group A, the Polish roster lost to NIP with a scoreline of 1:2 – 16:9 on Vertigo, 15:19 on Mirage and 12:16 on Overpass. At the same time, in the upper bracket semi-finals of Group B, the Brazilians from FURIA secured a victory against Finn "karrigan" Andersen's squad with a scoreline of 2:0 – 16:8 on Mirage and 16:13 on Nuke.

On Thursday, April 20, FURIA will face the winner of the match between OG and Cloud9 to compete for a ticket to the semi-finals of the event. In turn, the European roster dropped to the lower bracke to face Vitality tomorrow, April 19.
