ESL announce Intel Grand Slam S5

Tournament operator ESL has officially announced the launch of Intel Grand Slam S5, which starts today, April 17th. IEM Rio 2023 will be the first tournament of the award, as the organizers announced via their official Twitter account.

ESL did not change the rules of IGS, leaving the basic requirements the same. Thus, to win in S5, the team has to win three ESL Pro Tour events, as well as one big IEM tournament in Katowice or Cologne (or a Major organized by ESL) in ten consecutive tournaments.

Intel Grand Slam S5 will start in CS:GO and will continue after the transition to Counter-Strike 2.

FaZe secured the Intel Grand Slam S4 title, which took them a little more than a year. Other winners of the award are Astralis, Liquid and NAVI, which secured IGS titles in 2018, 2019 and 2021, respectively.
