Sprout bench Zyphon; bring in new IGL on trial

Sprout have announced via their official social media accounts the removal of Rasmus "Zyphon" Nordfoss from the starting five. His place in the team will be taken by Mikkel "Maze" Sparvath, who will be put through a trial period.

The reshuffle also sees the change of Sprout's in-game leader. Since the roster's formation in mid-2022, Ismail "refrezh" Ali has fulfilled this role, with Maze now taking over his duties.

Zyphon has been with Sprout since last August, when the club bought him from Copenhagen Flames. The best result of the team during this time was the victory at the European RMR tournament for IEM Rio Major 2022.

Prior to joining Sprout, Maze represented a number of Danish tier-3 teams and was also a captain of fnatic's academy team. It is worth noting that he was recently announced as a member of the Let us cook roster, which, without the backing of any organization, was assembled by eminent Pole Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski.

The changes in Sprout's lineup come shortly after their unsuccessful performance at IEM Katowice 2023, where the team failed to make it to the group stage. The first matches of the revamped five will take place at the closed European qualifier for IEM Brazil 2023, where tomorrow, February 8, at 17:30 MSK, they will face off against 9INE.

 Sprout's current lineup is:

 Victor "Staehr" Staehr
 Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea
 Ismail "refrezh" Ali
 Adrian "XELLOW" Guță
 Mikkel "Maze" Sparvath

 Danny "BERRY" Krüger (coach)
