Pimp: "Coming into IEM Katowice 2023, G2 are the favorites"

Analyst Jacob "Pimp" Winneche considers G2 the main contenders for victory at IEM Katowice 2023. He shared his opinion about the team on the broadcast of the English-language studio covering BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 after the European squad's victory over NAVI.

Coming into IEM Katowice 2023, as of right now, G2 are the favorites. So far in this tournament we've seen Vitality play some good Counter-Strike and we've seen G2 play some world-class Counter-Strike. We always say that we want to give a little bit of leeway to the teams after a break, but the way they're playing right now is just stellar.

NAVI is playing some of the worst Counter-Strike I've seen them play ever. You gotta tip your hat to G2, on the other hand probably playing the best Counter-Strike I've ever seen them play. The consistency coming out of all the players right now. NiKo firing on all cylinders. The two performances he has had against NAVI in this tournament have been nothing but world-class.

Over the course of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023, G2 won all their matches, which earned them a ticket to BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023.

IEM Katowice 2023 will take place from February 1 to 12. G2 will skip the Play-In and start their campaign on February 4 immediately from the group stage.
