FURIA co-owner: "There is one piece that does not evolve in CS:GO community. And that piece is Valve"

Giving an interview to streamer Alexandre "⁠gAuLeS⁠" Chiqueta, the translation of which was published on Reddit, FURIA co-owner Andre Akkari criticized Valve for its attitude towards the CS:GO esports scene. The words of the head came as a reaction to the suspension of the team's coach Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira, which Valve did not reduce despite the recommendations of the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).

According to Akkari, as a professional poker player, he should not be coaching FURIA at such an important tournament as IEM Rio Major 2022.

You guys have been doing this for a long time, doing it with mastery and always evolving. You're doing interviews with microphones, cameras, etc. The Counter-Strike community does not stop evolving, and I believe there is one piece that does not evolve. And that piece is Valve. And it's really sad to see this, man.

I'm there, behind them, taking the space of someone who gave his life to this. He only does this, 24 hours per day and we are witnessing a sad scene, not a good one. Obviously, after accepting the offer you try to help and everything, but it's shameful to have a professional poker player behind the boys because Valve did a shitty job. It's really bad to do this.

In my modest opinion, Valve had a chance to impact this whole young generation here in a positive way. They need a leader, we don't have leaders in politics, we don't have leaders anywhere. And when someone does the correct thing, like Apoka and Guerri, instead of them fucking valuing this, they go and punish the boys and gives a terrible example to everyone.
