OverDrive: X5G7V becomes K23's new IGL

After the removal of Vladislav "FinigaN" Usov and Bogdan "xsepower" Chernikov from K23's starting five, Daniil "X5G7V" Maryshev will lead the Russian squad as captain, insider Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov has reported via his Twitter account.

The source added that K23 had signed 17-year-old Kazakh Sanzhar "def1zer" Talgat, who has no experience competing at a professional level. He will occupy one of the two vacant spots on the roster, while the fifth lineup member remains unknown.

FinigaN and xsepower were transfer-listed shortly after K23's unsuccessful run at the European RMR tournament. At the regional qualifying event, the team lost to Falcons, MOUZ and BIG, which prevented them from securing a ticket to IEM Rio Major 2022.

K23's management needs to decide on the revamped roster within the next few days, as on October 25, the team will kick off its ESL Challenger League Season 43 Europe campaign.
