Cloud9 overtake G2 to move up to fifth spot in HLTV.org's ranking
HLTV.org's ranking of the best teams in the world saw another update. The most notable change was Cloud9's rise to fifth spot previously held by G2.
The ranking was updated the day after the end of the RMR tournaments for IEM Rio Major 2022, the results of which had a key impact on the teams' positions. In particular, besides G2, another top team that failed the qualifier and lost some ground was Astralis, who was pushed out of the top 10 by NIP, Heroic and MOUZ.
The rest of the ranking saw all the teams that made the Major gain positions, except for BIG, who, despite securing their participation in the Valve-sponsored event, dropped one place. Standing out with the most significant climbs are GamerLegion (+31 positions), Bad News Eagles (+8) and Sprout (+6).
The HLTV.org's ranking is updated weekly and primarily takes into account the results for the last two months. The team's achievements over the past year are also considered, while the number of points for past success decreases every month.
