Report: CSPPA intends to sue Flashpoint for $457.5K, which the league owes players

The Counter-Strike Professional Players' Association (CSPPA) is preparing a class-action lawsuit against Flashpoint and expects to sue it for $457,500, VaKarM reports.

The amount requested by the Association was stated in the contract of Flashpoint and all the league's partner teams that took part in the first and second seasons. Players who represented c0ntact, Envy, FunPlus Phoenix, Gen.G, MAD Lions, Dignitas, MIBR and Cloud9 in 2020 are now eligible for compensation.

The journalists calculated that the debt amounts to more than $11,000 per each player. According to the source, the CSPAA is currently collecting players' signatures, which will allow for a more substantial collective complaint to be brought to the court.

The contract signed between the partner teams and Flashpoint provided for such payments to players until 2022. Members of the eight teams mentioned above were to receive $472,500 in 2021 and $502,500 in 2022.

The information about possible litigation between the CSPPA and Flashpoint came just days after American journalist Jacob Wolf reported that the franchise league was shut down.
