FaZe, NAVI, G2 and FURIA to take part in IEM Cologne 2022 Group Stage

The IEM Cologne 2022 organizers have announced the list of the first direct invitees on their social media. Fourteen teams have been invited to the big tournament, earning the slots based on the results at the ESL Pro Tour events.

The rosters that received invites are divided into three categories: confirmed participants in the Group Stage (FaZe, NAVI, G2 and FURIA), confirmed participants in the Play-In Stage (GODSENT, TYLOO, Imperial and Sprout), as well as participants who can start the event either from the Group Stage or from the Play-In (Cloud9, NIP, Heroic, ENCE, Vitality, Liquid and Complexity).

The seeding of teams from the third category mentioned above will be announced right before the start of IEM Cologne 2022 and will depend on their results in the upcoming tournaments included in the ESL Pro Tour series. In particular, at IEM Dallas 2022, where one squad from Oceania and Europe will also win the ticket.

IEM Cologne 2022 will take place from July 5 to 17 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. In the course of the prestigious event, 24 teams will battle out a total prize pool of $1 million.

At the moment, the list of confirmed participants in the LAN tournament include 15 teams. Besides the first invitees, Sprout, who previously won the national qualifier, will also attend the tournament. Seven more invites that will be given based on the internal ESL rating will complete the event's team list.
