Gucci Gaming Academy for promising players from FACEIT announced

Esports company FACEIT and luxury brand Gucci have announced a new academy aimed to develop the most talented players on FACEIT. The project was named Gucci Gaming Academy and was announced before the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 grand final.

According to the press release, players from the FPL, FPL Challenger and regular FACEIT matchmaking are eligible to participate in Gucci Gaming Academy. They will be supported by coaches, psychologists and other specialists, who will help them find a team faster. The project's coaches are former c0ntact coach Neil "NeiL_M" Murphy and ex-analyst for MOUZ Colin "koi" Thor.

The first talent of Gucci Gaming Academy included four players: Łukasz "mwlky" Pachucki, Mārtiņš "shadiy" Gūtmanis, Brajan "DGL" Lemecha and Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas. The only player from the quartet with experience of performing at a professional level is EspiranTo.

Gucci Gaming Academy's press release also notes that following the completion of the training of the above-mentioned players, a new selection will take place, the detailed criteria for which have yet to be unveiled. It was only emphasized that it will be held "based on in-game performances, and several other factors."
