Edward to be trophy bearer at IEM Katowice 2022

Ukrainian esports athlete Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev will take part in the opening ceremony ahead of IEM Katowice 2022 playoffs. The tournament organizers announced on Twitter that the former player of NAVI will carry the championship cup to the Spodek Arena stage.

Also, as part of the opening ceremony, NAVI will be awarded gold bars for winning the third season of the prestigious Intel Grand Slam last year.

The ceremonies at Spodek Arena will begin today, February 25, at 16:30 MSK. The NAVI's awarding ceremony will take place at 16:50 MSK, while the first quarterfinal match between Virtus.pro and G2 will kick off at 17:30 MSK. Following this match, at 21:00 MSK, Gambit and FaZe will face off to fight for a semifinals spot.

The IEM Katowice 2022 playoffs will conclude on February 27. The winner of the grand final, which will take place in a best-of-five format, will bring home $400,000 from a total prize pool of $1 million.
