PGL changes dates of qualifiers for RMR events to avoid clashes with other tournaments
Tournament operator PGL has announced the changes in the dates of some of the previously announced open qualifiers for the upcoming RMR events. The changes were made so that the qualifying events do not clash with the previously approved schedules of IEM Katowice 2022 and ESL Pro League Season 15.
In particular, the first open qualifier for Europe has been postponed to the days off between the group stage and the playoffs of IEM Katowice 2022, while the second European qualifier and the first two qualifiers for North America and South America will kick off a few days after the end of the prestigious LAN event in Poland. PGL also postponed the fourth open qualifier for Europe to avoid clashes with matches in Group A at ESL Pro League Season 15.
The updated open qualifiers schedule for the upcoming RMR events:
Europe:
Qualifier #1 – February 22-23 (4 winners will advance to the RMR event)
Qualifier #2 – March 1-2 (5)
Qualifier #3 – March 3-4 (5)
Qualifier #4 – March 5-6 (5)
North America:
Qualifier #1 – March 3-4 (4)
Qualifier #2 – March 5-6 (3)
South America:
Qualifier #1 – March 3-4 (4)
Qualifier #2 – March 5-6 (4)
At the same time, PGL did not share any information about the possible postponement of the second European RMR event, which should take place concurrently with BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022. At the moment, this clash affects only NIP, who already have slots in two of these championships, however, other teams participating in the qualifiers for the Major may also be the potential participants of the BLAST event.
