ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 to take place online

The ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 organizers have announced the change in the tournament format. The international championship, which was planned to be held on February 11-13 in the American Anaheim, will take place online.

The reason for such decision was the cancellation of the DreamHack Anaheim game festival, as part of which the CS:GO tournament was supposed to take place. Under the current epidemiological conditions, the organizers could not guarantee the safety of participants.

According to the published press release, ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 will take place online at the previously scheduled dates, with the teams playing from Europe. The tournament operator will cover the flight and bootcamp costs for all the participants during the championship.

As of now, only half of the teams to take part in the championship has been confirmed. Based on the results of qualifiers in various regions, DBL PONEY, Extra Salt, 9z and ORDER claimed spots to the tournament with a prize pool of $100,000. Later, four more direct invitees will be announced.
