groove on Gambit at IEM Winter 2021: "We fought to the last drop of blood"
Gambit’s coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner, in a commentary to the club's YouTube channel, summed up the performance of his team at IEM Winter 2021, where the CIS squad took the 5-6th place. The specialist was pleased that throughout the championship his players showed character and will to win.
In this particular case, as a coach, I’m happy that we fought literally to the last drop of blood. We fought FaZe when I think everybody did not believe in us and thought we were done for. We also fought fnatic and both of the meetings with them started with a map down. We fought Vitality on three maps, where nobody could have expected anything on Mirage, yet we made it to overtimes.
Anyways, this is an invaluable experience. All the players, despite their young age, showed the will to win and character. Even at online events, I don't remember a single tournament like this.
The quarterfinal match of IEM Winter 2021 between Gambit and Vitality ended with the victory of the French team 2:1. Following the results of the championship, Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov’s squad won $10,000.
BLAST Premier World Final 2021, which will take place from December 14 to 19, will be the next tournament for Gambit. In the opening match, the CIS team will face off against Heroic.
