OverDrive: FACEIT Pro League had a massive purge
The administration of the competitive platform FACEIT performed a large-scale purge of the list of participants in the league for professional players. This was reported by eSports figure Alexey "OverDrive" Biryukov on his Twitter.
According to published information, 38 players were excluded from FACEIT Pro League, and about a hundred more people can leave the elite hub in the near future. According to Biryukov, FPL management intends to bring the league professionals to the previous format, when it was competed by only players of the tier-1 level.
FPL kicked 38 players and about to kick 100 more. I guess Astralis accounts deactivation one of the reasons of this global cleaning. Admins are planning to bring FPL to its original shape when there were few games per day but only with tier-1 players.

It is noteworthy that among the excluded eSports athletes there is not a single representative of teams from the top 30 world ranking HLTV.org. The bulk of the players are currently inactive (JUGi, xsepower, denis, ottoNd, Kjaerbye, etc.), finished their professional career in CS:GO (floppy, NBK-, loWel, etc.), or were absent from top-level tournaments for a long time (Lucky, kRYSTAL, iDISBALANCE, kinqie, speed4k, bondik, AcilioN, mertz, etc.).
FPL is a matchmaking event of a closed format for professional players on FACEIT with a monthly prize pool of $20,000. The winner of July season is Russian Boris "magixx" Vorobiev, who plays for Team Spirit.
