HLTV.org's squad of the first half of 2021 consists exclusively of CIS players

The authoritative portal HLTV.org in its Twitter presented its own version of the best team in the world in the first half of 2021. It included five players who play exclusively for clubs from the CIS: NAVI, Virtus.pro, and Gambit.

The authors of the symbolic team divided their team into five roles. The position of the star was taken by Alexander "s1mple" Kostyliev, and the role of "headshot master" was given to his NAVI teammate Valery "B1T" Vakhovsky. Joining the Ukrainian duo are Virtus.pro players Jami "Jame" Ali and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Galinskis, who serve as sniper and entry-fragger respectively. Timofey "interz" Yakushin of Gambit makes up the star five as the supporting player.

Teams from the CIS have won such major international tournaments as BLAST Premier Global Final 2020, cs_summit 7, IEM Katowice 2021, DreamHack Master Spring 2021, IEM Summer 2021, BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021, and IEM Cologne 2021.

There are currently three teams from the CIS in the top five teams according to HLTV.org: NAVI (1st place), Gambit (2nd), and Virtus.pro (5th).
