Gamers Without Borders announced a $1,5 million event

Gamers Without Borders have presented the Elite Tournament featuring eight professional teams as part of their 2021 charity eSports festival. The event will take place June 22-27, and the prize pool will be $1.5 million.

The format of the championship includes a group stage, followed by the Single Elimination playoffs. All games will be played in the best-of-3 format.

The entire prize money will go to charity, with the bulk of the money being distributed at the discretion of the higher-ranked teams. The stated goal of the tournament organizers is to distribute a vaccine against COVID-19 among underdeveloped countries.

  • 7-8. $50,000

The previous Gamers Without Borders event was first held in June 2020. Natus Vincere have defeated mouz in the grandfinals.
