ESEA suspend players after matchfixing scandal bursts out

Three former Rebirth players and two current OCG members have been suspended from participating at ESEA MDL amid an investigation by eSports Integrity Commission (ESIC) and FBI, after the transcription of their conversation has been published on dust2.us. It is reported on the official Twitter account of the tournament operator.

The day before Dust2.us published an audio recording where Sebastian "retchy" Tropiano, Kevin "4pack" Przepasniak and Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly are discussing match-fixing against Incognito and Russian Canadians in the North American division of ESEA MDL. According to the information provided, Alex "vek" Voynov and David "J0LZ" Jolin may be involved in this case while they deny any involvement in match-fixing.

Due to this situation, ex-Rebirth and OCG will be forced to end the current ESEA MDL season with standings. It is noteworthy that OCG did not declare substitutes, so the team will be disqualified if the organizers will not allow the lineup with new players.

On April 1, it became known that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had joined the investigation into match-fixing in North America. The first part of the report is expected to be published by the end of next week.
