NiP introduced Young Ninjas

NiP announced on its official website the creation of a youth lineup. It was called Young Ninjas and was part of a previously unveiled talent development program.

Jonas Gundersen:

The recent season of Elitserien really made waves. It truly warms my heart to see how far CS:GO has evolved in all the Nordic countries, especially within the grassroots, so it only makes sense to commit even more at this point. A guy like Fredrik has been around forever, and the work with Area Academy just makes for the perfect skill set to lead this project for us. The passion for youth development in him is great to feel.

The first Young Ninjas player is Erik "ztr" Gustafsson, who was bought from Spanish club KPI. The 17-year-old Swede previously played for Backbenimboy and Prima.

Jonas Gundersen continues:

There’s great talent out there and I am very excited to already have Erik on board to spearhead the project. A great guy with an incredible work ethic and mindset. Excited about seeing the team evolve and compete, as we continue to add the final pieces.

The youth team will be coached by former CS 1.6 pro Frederick "JAEGARN" Anderson. He is known for playing for Begrip and finished his career in 2009. Anderson subsequently worked as a commentator and analyst for various regional tournaments for Scandinavia.

NiP has also made changes to the Path of a Ninja young player training program, which is designed to support and develop Swedish talent. Initially, it was announced that new recruits would only be signed by Svenska Elitserien regional tournaments, but now the organization has expanded the opportunities for all talented eSports athletes to get into the roster.
