ESEA S33 Global Challenge LAN finals cancelled
ESEA announced the cancellation of the LAN Finals of the 33rd season of the MDL league, where representatives from Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania were to play out two slots atthe ESL Pro League S12 and a $75,000 prize pool. The reason for this decision is the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic.
Finalists from the European and North American divisions of ESEA MDL S33 will compete in the regional competition, with winners in the ESL Pro League. Lucid Dream and ORDER, who placed first in the Asian and Pacific Divisions respectively, will receive a financial compensation of $10,000 and the right to participate directly in the final stage of qualifying for the ESEA S34 Global Challenge.
Regional tournaments for Europe and North America will be held in parallel on August 7-9 in Double Elimination format. The top and bottom net finals will play up to two wins, while the Grand Final will take place as part of the BO5 match.
