Earlier there were many rumors about Valve's shooter moving to Source 2. It is expected that CS:GO will receive a global update on May 18, but one of the developers of the game Ido Magal the day before urged the community not to trust insiders' guesswork.

Source 2 is used in Dota 2, Half-Life: Alyx and other Valve games. Experts believe that switching CS:GO to a new engine may improve performance, but will not have a significant impact on the game's graphics and physics.
