shroud compared CS:GO and VALORANT
Former professional player in CS:GO, and today one of the most popular streamers Michael "shroud" Grzeszek believes that VALORANT can surpass Counter-Strike in popularity, because it is designed for a wider audience. He also noted that potential competition with Riot Games has forced Valve to spend more time developing its shooter.
Counter-Strike had no competitors throughout the years, so Valve did nothing. When the VALORANT closed beta came out, the company started actively releasing updates. I was told that CS:GO would move to Source 2 this summer, and a lot would change in the game. And it makes sense, because VALORANT will be released in summer, too. Valve is a very smart company and it does something only when you really need it.
