Flashpoint 1. MAD Lions won Dane derby; Chaos was stronger than Gen.G
The first stage of the Flashpoint 1 league is coming to its conclusion, Group A and Group B decided the fate of the main outsiders and the first finalists respectively. Thanks to the victory over Copenhagen Flames, MAD Lions will continue their fight in the tournament, while Chaos unexpectedly defeated Gen.G and took a lead in their group.
After the recent captain replacement, MAD Lions lost in their first two games, postponing the question of entering the second stage to the final game. The match against fellow Copenhagen Flames started on Dust2, which was chosen and due to good action on the attacking side, the map was taken - 16:9. MAD Lions responded with their pick, and did so in an even more convincing style - Train ended 16:6. The fate of the match was decided on Nuke, where the Lions took five of the six final rounds and won 16:13. Thus, Copenhagen Flames, following Envy, finished the first round of the Flashpoint 1 group stage in last place and will try to return to the eight-place playoffs in the second round. MAD Lions, on the other hand, is expecting a rival in the Group A bottom bracket final in the pair of HAVU vs. c0ntact.
Chaos and Gen.G. met in the second match of the day. British sniper Owen "smooya" Butterfield had to return home to get a new American visa and Chaos had to play with Logan "Voltage" Long as a substitute. Gen.G was approaching the match in the status of favorites, and the game started with their pick, but the opponent managed to surprise and from the score 7:10 led Inferno to a victory 16:11. Gen.G's failures continued on Mirage, where they lost the last six rounds (total score 16:12), bringing Chaos to the Grand Final of their group. Damian "daps" Steele's team will have a chance to get even with the offender, but to do so they must first beat MIBR.
